XENOPHOBIA/LUDDITE OF THE 21ST CENTURY

"What a sad era when it is easier to smash an atom than a prejundice" -Albert Einstein
The 19th century Luddites in Europe in relation to social interaction between the Early settlers (The South Africans) and the Late Settlers (The Nigerians).
In the quest of what the British lacked in the 18th/19th century brought about a great hardship upon them in which they encountered a problem of over population whereby their population as at then grew at a fast rate; Their population was growing at a geometric rate i.e 3, 9, 27, 81... While their Food and other resources grew at an Arithmetical progression.
As a result of this, A political economist "Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus" who was an Anglican clergy propounded a theory "The Malthusian Population Theory" in his book "An essay on population" written in 1798. 90% of his theory and philosophical premise were flawed and seem to be false. The Remedy he gave to over population were of negative concepts, His theory went futile due to a massive change in the economy, Industrial Revolution, Advancement in Technology and other development of implements.
The new face helped the Europeans then, but when these Technologies and implements were brought down to developing and under developed countries, It caused more harm than good .
However, these implements increased the Numbers and Volume of productivity in the state but it dominates and rendered the Labour intensive method useless.
As a result of this machines, the level of unemployment increased as the Job and Task to be carried out by four to five men is carried out by a person or two i.e out of every six Two is employed and Four is dismissed or adviced to leave due to the use of implements.

Moreover, Nobody knew this strategy was going to lead to a movement of people who will fight against the use of Heavy implements, these set of people are called "LUDDITES"
Luddites were a secret oath-based organization of English textile workers in the 19th century, A radical Faction which destroyed textile Machinery as a form of protest. From this scenario, it can be deduced that the Luddites were protesting against the use of Machinery in a fraudulent and deceitful manner" to get around standard labour practice.
This story can be linked to the Xenophobic Attack in South Africa in which the Early settlers (the South Africans) are the Luddites (protesters) and the Foreign investors (The Nigerians) are the Machinery, and a new form of technology.
It is seen that the Luddites then feared that the time spent in learning the skills of their crafts would go to waste as machines would replace their role in the industry.
Overtime, the team has come to mean one opposed to industrialization, Automation, computerized or new technologies.
The Luddites movement began in Nottingham in England and culminated in a region-wide rebellion that lasted from 1811 - 1816, Mills and Factory owners took to shooting protesters and eventually the movement was suppressed with legal and military force.
This, the movement was originated and was said to have been named by a man called "NED LUDD an apprentice who allegedly smashed two stocking frames in 1779 and whose name had become emblematic of Machine destroyers.
However, the xenophobic attack (Hatred / Fear of strangers) in South Africa is the same as that of the movement of the Luddites of the 18th/19th century which can also be referred to as the direct opposite of LASAT (Late Arrivals Superior Aggressive Theory) by Oludayo Tade.
Moreover, the Luddites tends that where the late settlers (Nigerians) are productive and resourceful than the early settlers in their own country, there by increasing the GDP of the foreigners in the country.
Although, ownership and control of the means of production by the late arrival is backed up by law, Hence the early settlers thinks the best way to Overcome and dominate the late Arrival is to resort into violence and criminality (killings, Abduction etc) to forcefully become the leaders of the late arrival and of possible displace or deport them or dominate them.
Seeing to this, the Luddites can also be seen as a group of people fighting for change as they are stucked in time i.e they are not really productive, nor progressing.
As a result of the attack in South Africa, the Nigerians youth has also decided to attack the Investment, properties and companies of the South Africans here in Nigeria which are, ShopRite, MTN, DSTV etc.
However, the fight back and this mutinous and despicable act of Fraudulent manipulation and extortion of goods from the malls is bound to take place because it is said that "All actions and reactions are equal but opposite"- Isaac Newton i.e what's sauce for the Goose is also sauce for the Gander .
The president of Nigeria, President Muhammed Buhari (PMB) and the president of South Afric, Cyril Ramaphosa must come together with other significant group of people to unlock the revolving strategy of the early settlers (South Africans) and ensure that the unharmed should be brought back to their home town by all possible means.
This disaster took place in Johannesburg, South Africa biggest City and capital of Gauntey province, A city where almost half of the country's commercial and business activities takes place.
The movement of protesters in South Africa, wanting foreigners to leave their country is going to result into National Discrimination, a system where National integration is Absent. The combination with compatible elements in order to incorporate them will be discouraged and can lead to a cold war between South Africa and other countries

Racism, Xenophobia and unfair discrimination have spawned slavery when Human beings have bought and sold and owned and branded their fellow human beings as if they were so many beasts of burden. -Desmind Tutu.
